A Blessing for the Coffee Makers

Written for the Brew Crew at Decatur First UMC
Spring 2025

Blessed are you,

who arrive early, or stay late, to serve.  

Blessed are you,

who stack the cups and scoop the grounds, 

      though you know not who will drink what you brew.  

Blessed are you,

who wear little brown dots of hospitality on your clothes, 

      stains of warmth and love, 

      an extension of the welcome that God gave to you,

      that you now share with others.  

May you know that you have been blessed to be a blessing, 

      and may you bear the warmth of that coffee in your heart all week long.
